we need a B&S 108 hp flat 12, with that I bet you could get all the way up to 80 mph and "overpower" those hills.

It's close to the cleanest set of lines one can expect on such an abomination, though. I suspect it was akin to "You want a design for WHAT? GTFO." and they finally got Briggs to go away with a drunk-scrawl-on-cocktail-napkin sketch.
